Not yet released | | | "Just Like Yesterday..." | | "Who`s Greatest Hits" (MCA) I Love to listen to this album while I am driving. A decade(mostly 70`s)of legendary hits, by this legendary band will have you keeping rhythm on your steering wheel, wanting to play your air guitar(Please be careful in traffic), and of course coming in right on cue with Roger Daltry...Yeahhhhhh!.... It`s a terrific compliation of some of their best stuff. It includes "Won`t Get Fooled Again" (of course),"Magic Bus","Who Are You" and "Pinball Wizard" among other signature hits. There are 13 tracks in all(see buying info for complete list). I have always considered The Who, one of the best rock bands ever.I idolized them way back when, and was fortunate enough to see them in concert(I still have the program). To this day I still crank up the sound whenever any of their songs is being played. I dearly love all the music on this album, but it just doesn`t say greatest hits to me without such songs as "Baba O`Riley" and "Behind Blue Eyes", among others. (It really pains me not go 5 stars with this one). But...."The Music`s Alright(Great)...You Can Play It All Night"..... Enjoy...Laurie | | | | This Cd has some of the Who`s greatest material. | | This cd is by far the best thing out there for a person who is just getting into The Who. It has the songs that made them legends and and songs keep them legends. It is a preview of almost every who cd made with Keith Moon. Songs like "My Generation" and "Substitute" give the listener a peak back to The Who`s mondster image, and songs like "5:15" and "Who are You" gives a smack in the faces to the listener with sexual, bold, and outrageous lyrics that Pete Townshed seem to produce out of thin air. Timeless giutar chords, harmonies, and lyrics tell the listener why they are the best and why they will remain the best. Roger Daltrey`s raspy but sweet harmonic voice, backed by Pete Townshends dynamic guitaring, John Entwistles seemingly effortless bass chords, and finnaly Keith Moon`s massive attack on his unsuspecting drum kit make "The Who`s Greatest Hits" some of The Who`s greatest hits. This brief listen gives an addictiv! ! e taste to the listeners musical palate. | | | | Who`s Greatest Hits? | For 1983, this was a pretty decent compilation of the Who. It featured songs not commonly thought of as greatest hits ("My Wife," "The Relay"...) "Won`t Get Fooled Again" was NOT cut short ("Who Are You" was), and is a lot better than "20th Century Masters: The Best of the Who" even though this album doesn`t feature "Join Together."But the best way to go with a Who compilation is the double disc (or triple with the bonus edition)"The Ultimate Collection," even if it doesn`t have "The Relay." Don`t get fooled again... | | | -- zzzz |
